The Creek
“It has always been a happy thought to me that the creek runs on all night, new every minute, whether I wish it or know it or care, as a closed book on a shelf continues to whisper to itself its own inexhaustible tale.”
-Annie Dillard, Pilgrim at Tinker Creek

It’s a relief to understand that wildlife goes on whether we care or not! Beautiful pictures. Inspiring.
I love this post. It reminds me of my recent camping trip at Linville Falls in the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. From where I was camping you could hear the Linville River. It was a great way to be lulled to sleep.
Exquisite pictures, Tom. Thanks for sharing.
I like this series, each one drawing the viewer deeper into the scene. Annie would approve. 🙂
Annie Dillard’s quote goes so well with your pictures of the creek and its emerald green mossy banks. Beautiful.
So lovely
Love this place…
Reminds me of Trail of Cedars on west side Glacier NP. Now I’m longing to get back. Beautiful.
Where were these photos shot?
They were taken in Northern Minnesota!
Beautiful, Thomas – the quote and the photos…
Fairies have to reside here! 💚
Yes, there is a peacefulness of the constant flow.
